The Site:
Roof of double garage behind terraced house in Knightsbridge, London. Views of Brompton Oratory. Area: 30 m2.
The Brief:
The client required as much privacy as possible from the roof gardens on either side, whilst retaining good views of the church.
Notes:
A new wrought iron screen and "Star of David" shaped Gazebo were designed to match the style of the existing wrought iron railings encircling the roof. Some of the railings were removed and replaced by densely planted raised beds. This improved the view of the new roof garden from the upstairs rooms of the house.
The Budget:
Approximately £9000 (including design fees)
