The Site:
An old orchard on a flat site, most of the old trees not worth saving. Mature Beech trees ran down the southern boundary.
The Brief:
To use a line of the remaining fruit trees as a way of subdividing the plot into smaller, more visually interesting, garden rooms, but still leaving enough open lawn area for childrens play. To link the separate rooms using meandering mown grass pathways, leaving areas of longer un-mown grass, planted with spring bulbs, under the trees.
The Budget:
Not calculated: the clients undertook all the work themselves.
